DJ E.T comes to Earth to find a way to save his home planet from robot invaders and in the process discovers music. Set in Glasgow, 'Beats of War' features some of the city’s iconic landmarks such as the Clyde river, the Finnieston Crane and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.


Etienne Kubwabo is a filmmaker and DJ from Glasgow who moved to Scotland 10 years ago from The Democratic Republic of Congo. Etienne talks about his journey into film making and how he turned to comic books to create Scotland’s first black superhero.

Etienne is currently working on the second issue of Beats of War and has aspirations for it to be an action film one day. “People should be ready for some flying superheroes up here. I'm going to be directing big movies in Hollywood - just wait for it. That's how it's going to be.”
